Tuition agreements for the 2010-2011 school year are being mailed out this week. Please see the letter enclosed with the tuition agreement for information regarding payment options and due dates.

Please join us for the last meeting of the 2009-2010 school year! We will meet on Tuesday, April 27th from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in The Lamy Center, Conference Room A. We will be discussing the results of the 2009 Christmas Bazaar, planning for the 2010-2011 St. Francis Drive and the Welcome Back Spaghetti Dinner.

St. Francis had 4 students qualify to participate in the Ohio Wesleyan University OWjL Camp this summer in Delaware, Ohio! Congratulations to: Mike Kimberlin (8th grade), Garrett Bemiller (7th grade), Hannah Poly (6th grade), and Rachel Bloom (6th grade). Have a great time at camp!

MANDATORY CONFIRMATION REGISTRATION AND INFORMATION MEETING FOR ALL CURRENT 7TH GRADE STUDENTS AND PARENTS WEDNESDAY, MAY 5, 7:00-8:30 PM JOHNSON HALL

Bishop Frederick Campbell will confer the Sacrament of Confirmation on all in-coming 8th Grade Students (current 7th Graders) on Sunday, December 12, 2010, 5:30 pm at St. Francis Church. All current 7th Grade Students and Parents are invited to attend this important information meeting on May 5th to register for the program, to obtain the class schedule, and to learn about service project and the patron saint projects and other details. Classes will be held on Wednesday evenings, 7:00-8:30 pm, beginning August 25th, for all 8th Grade Students (’10-’11 school year) including St. Francis School, PSR, and home schoolers. Questions??? The Catholic Foundation awarded St. Francis de Sales School $3000.00 to help replace bathroom fixtures in the student bathrooms and another $4500.00 to replace bathroom floors. Yeah!


Have you been laid off, let go, downsized, or part of a reduction in force? Is the work of finding work getting you down? Could you use some help? Hope? Support? The "St. Joseph Jobs Support Ministry" is here for you! Our goal is to provide educational and networking skills and support to the unemployed and underemployed of our parish, and to empower you to find new, meaningful employment. Our first meeting is Monday, April 12, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in Johnson Hall B. Come, join us! Any questions, call John Barbour at 366-4124.

The group will continue to meet each Monday at the same time/place. Cheri Hottinger, president of the Licking County Chamber of Commerce, will be our inaugural guest speaker on April 12 to discuss the Licking County economy and available resources for those seeking employment.

Anyone is welcome, regardless of church affiliation.

Masses move back into church! After a more than 3 month hiatus from the church, we are on schedule to be in the gym on Saturday, April 17th! Therefore, all masses will resume in the Church the weekend of April 17/18. Adoration will resume in the Day Chapel on Sunday, April 18th at 7:00pm. The first Daily Mass in the Day Chapel will be Tuesday, April 20th at 9am. Thanks be to God!

Please mark your calendar for Thursday, April 15th 3:00pm to 7:00pm & Friday, April 16th 1:00pm to 4:00pm for a CHURCH CLEANING PARTY

Cleaning Duties will include:

· Putting hymnals in pews

· Washing down doors & windows

· Bringing items from storage back into the church

· Wiping down pews

· Dust mopping floors

· Hanging Stations of the Cross

· Sweeping outside entrances

Many hands make light work, so please plan to help us get ready to be back in the church for Saturday, April 17!

3rd grade wants to thank all those who donated toothbrushes and toothpaste
for the LEADS Headstart program. We collected 159 toothbrushes and 122
tubes of toothpaste. We appreciate all your generosity!


Congratulations to Devon Lee & Rachel Crum for participating in the Distict History Day competition. Devon won in his category for Individual Documentary. Great job students!

Notice for Drama Club Costumes:
The drama club costume committee is busy planning costumes for this year's production. We are looking for the following items to be donated or loaned to the committee:

Old prom gowns, bridesmaid dresses, or other ladies formal wear, including any formal accessories.

Baseball uniforms, including pants, shirts, hats, or related baseball uniform accessories.

Dance costumes: old recital costumes, ballet tutus, leotards, or any dance related accessories, including tights and soft dance shoes.

Sheer or silky scarves, jewelry or other "royal looking" accessories.

Please do not donate any damaged or soiled items or any items not listed above. Items can be donated or loaned. Loaned items must be marked with the owner's name and phone number. Donated items will not be returned and may be altered. Loaned items will be returned to the child at school unless otherwise requested.

Items can be brought to school any Tuesday beginning 3/23.

Just a reminder that the deadline for submission to the Diocese and to the Parish for additional financial assistance is March 14th. Unfortunately, we will be unable to accept applications after this date. Thank you.

The 3-5th Grade Art Show at The Works will be Thursday, March 25th from 5:30-6:30pm. Everyone is invited to come and see what 3-5th grades have been creating at St. Francis!

School Calendar 2010-2011

Hey students! Now is your chance to honor your favorite teacher with an award from Panera Bread!

Protecting God’s Children Session Scheduled! There will be a Protecting God’s Children Session offered at Newark Catholic High School on Monday, March 15th starting at 6:30pm in the school cafeteria. Fingerprinting (BCI and FBI) will begin promptly at 5:00pm. Cost is $37 for BCI, $40 for FBI - $70 for both. Must bring driver’s license or state issued ID. Go to www.virtus.org to register for session.

The church is in need of some clean up before the next phase of the renovation begins this SATURDAY, MARCH 6th 9am to 12noon. This next phase entails clearing off the sanctuary/Altar area and windowsills, taking down the stations of the cross, and emptying out the choir loft balconies. This work could easily be done in just a few short hours with many hands. Coffee and donuts provided! Please forward this email on to your friends and family…as always, if you are a St. Francis school parent, these hours count towards money saving-cost generating.

Help raise money for St. Francis! Go to the Brick Oven any Tuesday in March and bring this coupon. Ten percent of the total bill will come back to our school!

We are currently in the process of creating an update letter for all families in the school that shows the number of volunteer hours that have been recorded to date. For our St. Francis Parishioners, this letter will also include your envelope usage and contribution totals so that you are aware of the information that we have on file. We anticipate that this letter will be mailed out next week.

TRIP Users – We are in the process of closing out our TRIP reports for the 2010-2011 school year. Totals will not be available for at least one month. Your TRIP credits will be shown on your invoice which will be prepared in mid April. Thank you for your patience as we close out this TRIP year.
